At a press conference in St. Louis on Wednesday, U.S. Rep. Wm. Lacy Clay called for a Justice Department investigation following a study suggesting that Missouri state agencies are violating national voter registration laws. Clay also said that Missouri is registering fewer voters through public assistance agencies than it did 10 years ago, which means that residents with lower incomes are becoming less likely to vote.
