St. Louis Area Concerned Taxpayers has the following message for the St. Louis Board of Aldermen: “Please don’t sell out St. Louis taxpayers! Don’t de-value your credibility and responsibility with St. Louis taxpayers. Vote no to any amendment to change or modify your previous agreement with Metro that gave your support to their original $425-million bond issue. Let’s wait until the State Auditor finishes the needed audit of Metro. Because: Metro’s CEO and commissioners have needlessly, wastefully, recklessly and uncaringly changed the original, cost-saving design of the cross-county MetroLink Extension resulting in a bombshell $100-million(plus) cost overrun placing this uncalled for, unjustified, Kilimanjaro-sized debt-load on St. Louis taxpayers. All this sleight-of-hand maneuvering with taxpayer money to appease the whimsical complaints of a small, champagne-glass class and size of people.”
