Last week, Ald. Terry Kennedy (18th Ward), was elected the new chairman of the Aldermanic Black Caucus, taking Ald. Mike McMillan’s (19th Ward) chair. Mike and his massive war chest are running for license collector.
Blogger Antonio D. French also noted that the butt-slapping from white cop to white aldermen who opposed Kennedy’s bill has begun in public. The St. Louis City Police Officers Association, the white cop union, dished out certificates of recognition at Friday’s Board of Aldermen meeting to the white aldermen who voted against Kennedy’s Civilian Review Board bill. Remember, these are the same po-po who sent Kennedy and his colleagues a letter threatening that they would “remember” their efforts to establish civilian review of the police force. Looks like they “remember” their friends, too.
