State Senator Maida Coleman has told the EYE that with McCaskill running for the U.S. Senate, she is considering a run for state auditor in 2006. Coleman, who was re-elected to a second four-year term in 2004, gets a free ride if she wants to throw her hat into the auditor primary. As the minority floor leader in the state Senate, she is the highest-ranking black in state government.
