St. Louis is giving residents recovering from the May 2025 tornado more time to apply for help with their water bills. The city has extended the application deadline from Oct. 31 to Dec. 23.
The program cuts water rates in half for eligible households through December 2028. Those behind on their bills can get a credit dating back to May 2025, reducing what they owe. Residents whose homes were left uninhabitable may qualify to have water charges forgiven. Even those whose service has been disconnected can apply.
More than 1,200 households have applied since the program opened in August.
Applications are available at stlrecovers.com, by calling 314-771-2255 or in person at 4401 Natural Bridge Ave. A photo ID is required.
