The U.S. Supreme Court has rejected the Trump administration’s effort to impose new mail-ballot restrictions ahead of the November midterm elections, leaving a lower court order blocking the changes in place.
The administration had sought to enforce new Postal Service requirements for mail ballots.
Justices Samuel Alito and Clarence Thomas dissented. President Donald Trump criticized the decision Tuesday, calling it a “big loss for Republicans.”
