United Way of Greater St. Louis launched its annual Community Campaign on Tuesday, seeking donations and volunteers to support programs across its 16-county service area in Missouri and Illinois.
The organization says nearly 40% of households in the region struggle to cover basic monthly expenses, including food, transportation, health care and utilities. United Way supports more than 150 nonprofits and services including its 211 referral line.
Ryan Davis of Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner and Chris Zimmerman of the St. Louis Blues are co-chairing this year’s campaign.
