Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest. – Joshua 1:9

Throughout my life and ministry, I have endured so much hardship, failure and disappointment. Rejection caused me to be literally paralyzed and unable to progress. I could not move forward because I kept looking back and feeling sorry for myself.

In the meantime, I was allowing my gifts to lay dormant which caused me to be frustrated and angry. I would read the Bible and pray daily, but I was full of doubt and unbelief. I would pretend to be a woman of faith and living out my God-given dreams, but the truth is I was full of fear.

I begin really seeking God and crying out for help and He revealed His will for me, which was the thing that I failed at before, go figure.

Has God called you to do anything for His glory? Has He called you to do something that you have already tried before, but you failed at it? Please do not be afraid to try it again.

Peter, in the Bible, had this very issue. He was fishing all day and night with no results but Jesus came on board and told him to try the very thing that he was not able to succeed in at that time. Though be was afraid of failure, he decided to take God at His word and step out on faith and immediately his boat was full of fish. His business was on a new level.

Fear was the root of my problem, I had taken my eyes off Jesus and began looking at all the obstacles around me and started to sink and sunk right into apathy and insecurity.

Understand that when you decide take a leap of faith and obey God, you will be faced with persecution, tribulation, rejection and so many other hindrances. They come with the job in order to try to stop you from completing your purpose. Be prepared by reading God’s word, building an altar of prayer and trusting God to be with you. Remember, just reading the word of God is not enough, you must believe every word of it and obey.
