The Lord
has blessed me with many gifts. The gift to counsel, the gift to
teach, the gift to be bold in His spirit, the gift of caring,
loving, the gift to reach others, and even this beautiful gift of
writing.
“font-size: 9.0pt; font-family: Verdana;”>Now I said all this not to brag or boast, because this is not for my glory, but for the glory of the Lord. Yet, I brought this up because the Lord has been good to me, I mean unbelievably good to me. I am so blessed to be able to help others and that is my greatest joy. There are many people that are blessed by my help or words of wisdom, but then there are some that feel, just because I am not “famous” or “celebrity status” that I don’t have anything effective to share with them. This always reminds of that scripture, when Jesus said, “I came to my own and they knew me not.”
“font-size: 9.0pt; font-family: Verdana;”>Some of my own family and friends will not adhere to the advice that I give them, because I am not Bishop T.D. Jakes, or Joyce Meyers. So does star power really make a person wiser than an ordinary Midwest girl?
“font-size: 9.0pt; font-family: Verdana;”>I start thinking about myself, when I ever I get in trouble and need a word, I don’t go and grab my pretty Sunday Bible with the pink case, I go and grab my,”RIGHT NOW LORD BIBLE”! You might be wondering what is that? That is my old tattered bible that I have had since I was twelve it is tattered and the cover is falling off. The inside of it is written in, highlighted and has subject matters. So you may be wondering why not the pretty pink? Because when I get in trouble, what’s pretty does not matter, it’s the substance and the help on the inside that matters. The point that I am making is, there is nothing wrong with T.D. Jakes or Joyce Meyers, I love them both, but when I need some right now wisdom, my raggedy bible, my husband, my local pastor, my mother, or my wise girlfriend will do just fine. I don’t have the pleasure of having a direct line to the Bishop or Joyce, but God has provided me with those around me that can lead and guide me.
“font-size: 9.0pt; font-family: Verdana;”>To say that this does not bother me sometimes would be a lie. But to say that I am more pleased to know that the Lord honors, and values my every effort is way more overtaking than the negativity. God honors our every step and movement and never takes us for granted. It does not matter if we sell out arenas, or have a larger than life presence, God will use the smallest of us to do his will. So if you are ever in a situation like you and myself begin to feel a little down, just continue to seek the face of the Lord and know to Him you are a jewel in His crown.
