“And so I tell all of you: what you prohibit on earth will be prohibited in heaven, and what you permit on earth will be permitted in heaven. And I tell you more: whenever two of you on earth agree about anything you pray for, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven.” Matt. 18: 18-19 (Today’s English version)
Every believer on earth has been given the power and authority to put a stop to anything that attempts to hinder you from fulfilling the plan that God has for you. There has to be an understanding of who you are in Christ and the rights and privileges granted you as one of God’s children.
Your authority was reclaimed and reestablished by Jesus Christ. This is why God sent Jesus to the earth to “destroy the works of Satan,” who is every believers number one enemy. Satan, who is described as a thief, “comes to steal, kill and destroy.” His main goal is to hinder the plan of God in the life of every believer. If you do not understand the authority that has been given to you, then defeat will run rampant in your life.
You have been given power to stop anything that comes into your life that does not line up with the Word of God. When you know what God has told you to do and all hell begins to break loose, then you know that the enemy is at work to put up a stumbling block and to set a trap for you to stumble and fall. This is not the time to murmur and complain. This is not the time to have a pity party. This is not the time to feel sorry for yourself. Instead, you must rise up and begin to walk in the power and authority given to you by God.
The enemy is expecting you to look at the situation and begin to doubt in your heart that this goal or vision is impossible. Just because you do not see a way out does not mean that God has not given you a way of escape. God is a Spirit, therefore He operates in the Spirit realm. Just because you do not see a thing in the natural doesn’t mean that it is not there. God would not promise to make a way of escape for you for every temptation and then turn His back on you. Your lack of faith will hinder what God has planned for your life.
When fear, worry, anxiety and unbelief are manifested through your mind, these negative and disruptive manifestations become a hindrance to your ability to overcome. All of these characteristics are sent into your heart and mind in order to destroy the plan of God for your life.
You become an overcomer when your walk is in the Word. The Bible gives the believer the answer to every problem that you could ever face. God is not going to take authority over your problem for you. He is going to do it through you. His power is living in you. This divine power must be released through your thought process and the words that you speak. Whatever you bind or prohibit to be unlawful on earth will be already bond and prohibited in heaven. God is not going to bind it for you. The binding and loosing must be done through a body here on earth. You must know who you are in Christ and the rights and privileges given to you by God.
Overcoming failure and defeat requires a walk in the Spirit of God. Begin to ask the Holy Spirit to give you revelation and insight into any and every situation so that you can understand the tricks and schemes of the enemy. When you know that what is happening in your life has not come from God, then begin to take authority over the situation. When the enemy attacks, it is time for spiritual warfare. The Bible lets us know that, “For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds; casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exaleth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ.”
You must see the Word of God as one of your weapons. Begin to speak the word in prayer over every negative encounter. Prayer mixed with the Word is a powerful weapon for victory. The Blood of Jesus is a weapon that will cleanse and purge anything that is not from God. Faith is a weapon that will bring down any mountain of circumstances.
You have been created by God to live an abundant life. His power now living in you is sufficient for any negative encounter. You must have an attitude that says I will never give up. What God has promised you is for you. There must be an understanding that the enemy of your soul does not want you to succeed especially if you are willing to give all the glory and honor to God.
If what you are doing in responds to a temporary hindrance or what appears to be defeat does not line up with the Word of God, Stop! It is time to trust God. Believe that He is a Deliverer. His power in you is enough to change any situation from a negative to a positive. You have been empowered by God through Jesus Christ for a victorious life.
If you really know who you are in Christ, Walk In Him. Anger, complaining, depression, worry or any other negative responds to a challenge just makes the situation worst. You must stay positive in the midst of what appears to be defeat. Walk by faith and not by sight. Speak what you want and never what you have. Stay focused on your goals and believe that you have mountain moving power living in you.
