Christopher J. Carroll

Citi
In short, what do you do?
I am a Senior Vice President, Global Program Manager for Citigroup, responsible for leading transformational strategic initiatives across Citi Group’s Global Consumer Banking Franchise. Initiatives include defining Citi’s core operations strategy, leveraging digital to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the business, re-engineering the sales and sales support process, enhancing the effectiveness of our product offering, streamlining our cost structure, improving our approach to credit delivery, and improving the governance across our global footprint and with our global product partners.
After studying Engineeringin school, then working in the Software and Technology, what prompted your career move to financial services?
Prior to Citigroup, I served as a Business Development Executive, with Cerner Corporation in Kansas City, responsible for global business development for the firms consulting and technology divisions. In this capacity I led sales and the execution of technology and consulting engagements throughout the United States, Canada, Australia, the United Kingdom and the Middle East.
After graduate school I sought the opportunity of applying his leadership and experiences to leading digital financial services transformation on a global stage.
As co-chair of Citi’s African Heritage Network (St. Louis), tell us a bit about the value and opportunities the AHN provides for its members.

Leadership matters — our culture is not just who we are and what we believe; it’s how we lead in everyday moments. Holding ourselves and each other to the highest standard is part of our commitment to operating in our clients’ best interests, driving economic value and minimizing risk. MANAGING DIVERSITY AT CITI Holding ourselves to the highest standards means setting the tone from the top: our most senior leaders view themselves and others as accountable for enabling an equitable and inclusive culture where we proudly reach our fullest potential. We’ve created clear measures of accountability for leaders at all levels. This starts with the CEO’s leadership team, who co-chair (along with other senior leaders in the business, functions and regions) each of our Affinity groups (Asian Heritage, Black Heritage, Citi Women, disAbility, Generations, Hispanic/Latino Heritage, Military Veterans, Multicultural, Parents, Pride).
You serve on the board of directors of the Northside Youth and Senior Service Center. What drew you to serve that organization? I was moved by Northside’s mission to inspire and serve our youth while addressing the needs our elderly. Locally, I serve as the Board Fundraising Chair and Governance Chair for the Board of Directors of the Northside Youth and Senior Service Center.
