Incarnate Word Academy girls track and field star Bailey Hensgens continued her magnificent season by winning another championship.

Hensgens won the gold medal in the high jump at the USATF U20 Outdoor Championships on Saturday in Eugene, Oregon. The rising senior cleared 6-feet to win the championship in a field that included collegiate athletes.

By winning the high jump, Hensgens will represent the USA at the upcoming U20 World Championships, which will also be held in Eugene from August 5-9.

Hensgens is coming off an outstanding junior season at IWA where she won three individual state championships at the Class 4 state meet in Jefferson City. She won state titles in the high jump, long jump and triple jump. She set a new state record by winning the high jump. She is the daughter of Kathryn Coleman, a former star jumper at Gateway Tech who was a collegiate standout at LSU and SEMO.
