St. Louisan Napheesa Collier turned in her best performance on Monday at the FIBA World Cup in Berlin, Germany.
The former Incarnate Word Academy All-American scored 12 points and grabbed seven rebounds as the USA defeated Czech Republic 105-64 in the final game of group play.
Team USA finished Group play with a 3-0 record and qualified for Thursday’s quarterfinals, where they will face the winner of Tuesday’s game between Japan and Hungary.
After scoring a narrow 55-52 victory over Italy on Sunday, the USA came out strong against an overmatched Czech Republic team as they dominated from start to finish.
Team USA put six players in double figures, led by Breanna Stewart’s 19 points. Angel Reese scored 13 points, Jackie Young and Collier scored 12 points while Sonia Citron and Paige Bueckers added 10 points. Point guard Caitlin Clark had nine points and a team-high seven assists while forward Kiki Iriafen had seven points and a team-high 11 rebounds.
