Saint Louis University guard Kellen Thames has been tabbed as the Player of the Week in the Atlantic 10 Conference.
A former standout at Pattonville High, Thames was the leading scorer in both of the Billikens victories in A-10 play last week.
Thames scored 16 points and grabbed five rebounds in both the Billikens 78-56 victory over Fordham last Wednesday and the 88-63 victory over Richmond last Saturday. In those two games, Thames shot 76 percent from the field as he made 13 of his 16 field goal attempts.
For the season, Thames is averaging 10.6 points and 5.8 rebounds while shooting 72 percent from the field and 76 percent from the free throw line in 17 minutes a game.
Saint Louis (17-1) is on the road this week for games at Duquesne on Tuesday night and at St. Bonaventure on Friday night.
