St. Louisan Steve Hall is receiving plenty of preseason accolades ahead of his redshirt sophomore football season at Lindenwood University.
The former MICDS standout running back has been selected to the Walter Payton Watch List for the upcoming season. The Walter Payton Award is given annually to the National Offensive Player of the Year in the National Football College Subdivision (FCS).
Hall was also selected as the Preseason Offensive Player of the Year in the Big South/Ohio Valley Conference as well as a Preseason First Team All Conference selection.
The 5’9” Hall exploded on the college football scene last season as a redshirt freshman. He rushed for 808 yards and scored five touchdowns while averaging a league-leading 7.3 yards per carry. For his efforts, he was selected as the Big South/OVC Freshman Offensive Player of the Year. He was also a finalist for the Jerry Rice Award, which is given to the outstanding freshman player in the FCS.
Hall came over to Lindenwood after a stellar four-year prep career at MICDS. As a four year starter with the Rams, Hall rushed for 4,446 yards and he scored 73 touchdowns.
Lindenwood opens its season on Thursday, Aug. 28, at St. Thomas (MN) at 6 p.m.
