8-1 and hosting Burbank

The East St. Louis Flyers (8-1) will host Burbank St. Laurence (6-3) in the first round of the IHSA Class 7A state playoffs on Saturday afternoon at Clyde C. Jordan Stadium in East St. Louis. Kickoff is scheduled for 3 p.m.
The Flyers concluded the regular season with a 51-0 victory over Edwardsville last Friday night to win the Southwestern Conference championship in undefeated fashion. Running backs Dantrell Smith and Vincent Arterbridge scored two touchdowns each while quarterback Detchauz Ray threw two touchdown passes.
