St. Louisan Steve Hall of Lindenwood University was selected as the Big South/OVC Freshman of the Year after a tremendous collegiate football debut season.

The Freshman of the Year award was only one of multiple postseason honors for the standout running back from MICDS. He was also selected to the All-Big South/OVC First Team. Hall is also a finalist for the Jerry Rice Award, which goes to the freshman football player at a FCS school.

In his redshirt freshman season, Hall rushed for 808 yards on 111 carries and he scored five touchdowns. He averaged 7.3 yards per carry. He was named the FCS National Freshman of the Week after he rushed for 259 yards and scored four touchdowns in the Lions’ 49-38 victory over Western Illinois on October 26. Hall also rushed for 94 yards in the Lions’ 24-12 upset victory over No. 6 SEMO on November 9.

Hall was a four-year prep standout at MICDS, where he rushed for 4,446 yards and scored 74 touchdowns during his stellar career.
