The 6’2″ freshman forward-guard made had quite a debut at last week’s St. Francis Borgia Thanksgiving Tournament.
Roundtree averaged 23 points and more than 10 rebounds a game for the Stars, who played the tournament without several of their key players who were still playing football for the state championship over the weekend.
The absence of the football players gave the talented freshman a chance to shine as he had 21 points in a 85-45 victory over Pacific, 19 points in the semifinals against Hannibal and a stellar 30-point, 15-rebound performance against Columbia Hickman in the third-place game.
Roundtree comes from an impressive basketball family as he is the half-brother of former Cardinal Ritter College Prep star and Duke University All-American Chris Carrawell. Roundtree already exhibits some of his brothers’ characteristics from his versatility and overall feel for the game.
McCluer North will be competing in the Pattonville Tournament this week.
