Webster Groves basketball standout Scottie Adkinson has given a commitment to the University of Missouri.

A 6’2” rising junior guard, Adkinson was the St. Louis American Player of the Year after leading the Statesmen to the Class 5 state championship this past season. Adkinson is also the No. 1 player in the Prep Hoops Missouri Class of 2027 rankings. He was named the Gatorade Player of the Year after his stellar sophomore season.

Mizzou head coach Dennis Gates had made Adkinson a high priority in his recruitment of Class of 2027 players. Adkinson made his announcement on his social media account on Tuesday afternoon.

As a sophomore, Adkinson averaged 24.5 points, 5.8 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 2.2 steals while shooting 42 percent from 3-point range. He had many huge performances during the season, including a 43-point outburst against Class 6 state runner-up Chaminade.

In the Final Four of the Class 5 state tournament, Adkinson scored 30 points in the semifinals against Westminster and 29 points in the championship game against Summit Christian.

Adkinson is currently playing with the MoKan Elite 16U team in the Nike EYBL during the summer grassroots season.

  1. Just seen Scottie 2-7-26, walk thru the gym of Webster groves High, as my grandson & others played their tournament games. Those that knew him were AMAZED! The young lads just wanted to touch his hand.
