A film crew from Showtime Championship Boxing will be on hand at Knockouts Bar and Grill to capture live footage of boxing fans enjoying the bout between Devon Alexander and Amir Khan Saturday night. Knockouts will host a special fight party in support of Alexander, a St. Louis native. Knockouts is owned by Kevin Cunningham, Alexander’s trainer and chief corner man.Â
Knockouts will feature extra security at the establishment, including two St. Louis County police officers and in-house security. Cunningham heightened security measures after a security worker, Herbert Burnett, was gunned down in November by a patron who was denied entry through the exit door. Jamal T. Martin was arrested and charged with first-degree murder in conjunction with Burnett’s death.
Cunningham is confident in the safety precautions taken and believes Knockouts provides a safe and fun-filled environment for sports fans. Patrons must be 30 years old to enter.
