The St. Louis Rams have signed former Tennessee Titans cornerback Cortland Finnegan to a five-year deal worth approximately $50 million.

Finnegan, who has 14 career interceptions, immediately becomes the team’s #1 cornerback after the team released Ron Bartell on Tuesday.

The Rams also released Jason Brown, Fred Robbins, James Hall and Justin Bannen earlier in the week.

 

Megatron receives transformative deal

Detroit Lions All-Pro wide receiver Calvin Johnson has signed a seven-year, $132 million contract extension.  $60 million is guaranteed in the richest contract in league history for a wide-receiver.

 

Brandon Marshall traded to Bears

Miami may be out of the Peyton Manning sweepstakes after dealing its top wide receiver, Brandon Marshall to the Chicago Bears.

The Dolphins received two third-round draft picks for their All-Pro wide receiver.  In Chicago, Marshall will be reunited with quarterback Jake Cutler.  The two previously played together in Denver.
