Lutheran North football coach Lorenzo Brinkley put together a very challenging schedule to test his talented team this season.

In their first three games, the Crusaders took on perennial state challenger Cardinal Ritter, Class 3 state champion Blair Oaks and Class 7A Lincoln-Way Central from the Chicago area. North lost all three games but played very competitive football. The idea is to get his team prepared for the postseason, where the Crusaders will be in Class 3 this season.

Things started to pop in the past two weeks as the Crusaders posted impressive victories over Metro League opponents Lutheran South and Westminster. Lutheran North scored a total of 101 points in those two games. They defeated rival Lutheran South 61-0, then followed up with a 40-19 victory over Westminster last Friday night.

The Crusaders boast an impressive trio of offensive weapons in senior quarterback Jonathan Moore, junior running back Kai Robinson and senior wide receiver Kyren Evans. All three contributed several big plays in the victory over Westminster.
