As of last weekend, Missouri Tigers fans had purchased just 2,500 tickets to the Independence Bowl in Shreveport, La. This is the fewest any Big 12 team has sold to this particular bowl in years, and is probably an all-time low for any bowl game this decade for any participating school from any conference in any bowl game.
This is a declaration of apathy unmatched at any time in Missouri athletic history, and all sports department administrators, coaches and players must understand that the Tigers are close to becoming a non-factor in the Big 12, as far as fan support is concerned.
