St. Louis CITY SC will bring its first U.S. Open Cup championship home to Energizer Park on Wednesday, Oct. 28. Fans will have a chance to chance to celebrate the club’s historic run before its midweek matchup against the Portland Timbers. The trophy marks CITY SC’s first piece of hardware since joining MLS in 2023. It also adds the club to a long lineage of St. Louis teams that have lifted the U.S. Open Cup dating back more than a century.

The celebration begins on Lou Fusz Plaza with the CITY Block Party at 4:30 p.m. Fans will be able to see the U.S. Open Cup trophy up close and take photos with the club’s first championship hardware. The plaza will feature live entertainment from DJ Tatiana Rose, games and family activities, and food from Steve’s Hot Dogs and Balkan Treat Box. The match falls on College Night, so the Saint Louis University pep band and local college mascots also will make appearances.

Inside the stadium, fans are encouraged to be in their seats by 7:15 p.m. for a pre‑match recognition ceremony honoring the club’s championship run. The ceremony will include remarks from Carolyn Kindle and the raising of the U.S. Open Cup championship banner — marking the moment CITY SC officially brings its first trophy home.

CITY SC earned the title last week after a tense, scoreless 120 minutes against the Columbus Crew, ultimately winning 5–3 in a penalty shootout. Backup goalkeeper Ben Lundt stepped in after Roman Bürki left with an injury in the 78th minute and delivered the opening save that set the tone for the shootout. The victory made CITY SC the 11th club from St. Louis to win the U.S. Open Cup, extending the region’s long history in the competition.
